The Warriors are making another roster tweak and this one brings back a familiar face.
Golden State announced that Jackson Rowe has been released, clearing the way for the team to convert a two-way slot.
Marc Stein of The Stein Line was first to report that the Warriors planned to waive Rowe, with HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto adding that the franchise will bring back LJ Cryer to fill the opening.
And if you followed Warriors camp back in October, Cryer’s name should ring a bell.
The 24-year-old guard was with Golden State in the preseason, shot the ball well, and earned some buzz after averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 assists during Summer League on .500 shooting and 42 percent from three.
He also flashed in limited preseason minutes, averaging five points in under 10 minutes a night.
Since then, Cryer has been lighting up Santa Cruz in the G League Tip-Off Tournament, putting up 24.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds while drilling 5.1 threes per game on 41 percent.
Rowe, meanwhile, leaves the organization after a steady couple of seasons between Santa Cruz and Golden State.
He appeared in six NBA games last year, averaged 16.3 points and 7.9 rebounds for Santa Cruz in 2024-25.
