Warriors, Wizards Officially Complete Chris Paul Trade
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Warriors and Wizards have officially completed the trade that will send Chris Paul to Golden State and guard Jordan Poole to Washington.

Along with Poole, the Wizards will receive guard Ryan Rollins, forward Patrick Baldwin Jr., the Warriors’ 2030 first-round pick (top-20 protected) and 2027 second-round pick.

Paul was acquired by the Wizards as part of the Bradley Beal trade with the Suns. He will now team with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in the Golden State backcourt, replacing Poole, who was a playoff disappointment.

But a fresh start may be what Poole needs after a tumultuous season –which began after he was punched by forward Draymond Green at practice.

Meanwhile, this marks the first deal for the Warriors under new GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., who took over for Bob Myers after 12 seasons and four championships.

Paul, 38, is viewed as the ultimate setup man and should be a strong fit next to Curry, Green and Thompson, with Paul finishing third in the league in assists with the Suns this past season (8.7 apg).
