Washington Wizards: Bilal Coulibaly Calls 2-Time NBA All-Star Forward the ‘Easiest Superstar to Guard’ in Wild Claim
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Wizards rookie Bilal Coulibaly raised eyebrows when he reiterated that Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam is one of the league’s most overrated players.

The 19-year-old swingman recently appeared on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back to double down on his previous comments about Siakam because he felt that his offensive game is easy to predict, making him one of the easiest superstars to guard.

“I stand by it. I just said that no he was not overrated, you know, but they were asking me kind of like who was the easiest superstar to guard, and I was like Pascal,” Coulibaly said. “I watched the films and I knew what he was about to do when he was going left, spinning around, going right. So yeah, I was like, yeah, he was the easiest superstar to guard.”

Bilal Coulibaly might want to take back his words, as Pascal Siakam had a lot of success against him and the team this season.

In the two games he played against the Washington Wizards as a member of the Toronto Raptors, the one-time NBA champion averaged 30.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game on 50 percent shooting from the field.

Also, Siakam has become an integral cog in the Indiana Pacers’ current playoff run, in which they are now 2-2 in the series against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Bilal Coulibaly’s debut campaign with the Washington Wizards

Bilal Coulibaly was picked seventh overall by the Washington Wizards in last year’s NBA Draft. Many saw him as a long-term project because of his immense upside, but he is coming off a decent rookie campaign.

The young Frenchman averaged 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 43.5 percent shooting from the field and 34.6 percent from three-point land. He only played 63 games for the Washington Wizards because of a fractured right wrist late in the 2023-24 season.
