The Washington Wizards (2-11) started a two-game road trip against the Charlotte Hornets (4-9) looking to snap a six-game losing streak.

At the halftime buzzer, Wizards forward Corey Kispert hit a half-court shot to extend the lead over the Hornets to a score of 56-49.

This is already the third time the teams have played this season so they know each other well.

The series is tied 1-1 this year so both Washington and Charlotte are looking to take the advantage with only one game left against each other.

The leading scorer for Washington is forward Deni Avdija with 11 points on 66 percent shooting.

Offensive rebounding and second chance points were a huge difference in the last matchup as Charlotte dominated that area which secured the victory for them.

Things have changed though as the Wizards have done well in that department tonight, only allowing three offensive rebounds and six second chance points to the Hornets.

Charlotte's leading scorer is guard LaMelo Ball with 14 points on 46 percent shooting.

Here are some keys to Washington coming out and holding on in the second half.

Keep Charlotte off the offensive boards, so far center Mark Williams has been limited to four total rebounds which is a massive improvement to the last matchup.

Don't let Ball get hot, if you do he can torch the Wizards and beat you all by himself.
