The Washington Wizards (3-16) are at home against the Philadelphia 76ers (12-7) at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. E.S.T.
After the Wizards four-day break they are finally back on the court to face a really tough 76ers squad.
Washington has really struggled on defense the last couple games with a defensive rating of 128.7 in the last couple games.
Let's see how the Inside The Wizards staff views the game tonight.
Gage Sheets: 76ers 146 Wizards 122
Unless Philadelphia center Joel Embiid and guard Tyrese Maxey just decide not to show up the chances of the Wizards competing in this game are slim.
Washington's defense is not going to be able to get many stops on their own and will need and off night from the 76ers.
Look for the Wizards rookie guard Bilal Coulibaly matchup with Maxey when they're both on the floor together.
Darrell Owens: 76ers 131 Wizards 119
The Washington Wizards (3-15) are facing the Philadelphia 76ers (12-7) in one game home matchup before hitting the road for a two-game road trip. This game will be the second of four matchups between Philadelphia and Washington this season. The Wizards lost Friday against the Orlando Magic 130-125.
The first matchup between these two teams did not go well for the Wizards. The Sixers defeated Washington 146-128 with reigning MVP Joel Embiid dropping 48 points. Kyle Kuzma led the way for the Wiz with 27 points. If the Wizards plan to shock the NBA tonight and defeat the Sixers, they’re really going to have to find a way to neutralize Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Unfortunately with this Wizards’ team defensive woes, I don’t see that happening and I have the Sixers winning this one 131-119 over the Wizards.
