He has powered his way to the Western Conference Finals and has his team in the race for an NBA Championship, yet how did Anthony Edwards accomplish it in a short amount of time?
The 23-year-old improved his game on the court, but his strength is more impressive.
We are now hours away from Game 1 of the conference finals between Minnesota and Oklahoma City. Edwards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are the two biggest, young superstars in the league. Both are in a position to become the new face of it; however, which one takes it? An old video from Edwards’ collegiate tenure at the University of Georgia surfaced on X.
The interview was him in the weight room benching 275 pounds at 17 years old under Tom Crean.

Edwards was a McDonald’s All-American in high school and earned SEC Freshman of the Year in 2020. His ability to muscle through contact and get to the rim came from the hard training in college. He will need to rely on that strength against the Thunder’s defense.
