Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal learned a valuable lesson during his team’s 116-107 defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
With three minutes remaining in the third quarter of the outing, Beal got the ball and drove it to the basket — hard. Because of how skilled he is offensively, the 27-year-old likely figured that nobody would be able to stop him.
Enter: 7-foot-5 behemoth Tacko Fall.

Sadly, that one play perfectly encapsulated the Wizards’ night as a whole. Beal exploded for a game-high 41 points on 16-of-29 shooting from the field and 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, but it simply wasn’t enough.
After the game, he expressed the sort of frustration that has become common for him throughout this young NBA season.
“Honestly, I don’t know,” he told reporters, per Ava Wallace of the Washington Post.
“I mean, I do know, it’s our defense. But I don’t know why it’s our defense. At this point, we can’t guard a parked car.”
Beal’s next shot at redemption will come on Saturday afternoon, when his Wizards will host the struggling Miami Heat.
