Guard Darius Garland played hero for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their road matchup against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
With the Pistons and Cavaliers tied 115-115 and five seconds left in the fourth quarter, Cleveland inbounded the ball to Garland. He raced to Detroit's logo and drilled a 31-foot three-pointer, securing a 118-115 win for the Cavaliers.

Garland finished with 25 points, three rebounds and five assists on 8-of-18 shooting. With the win, the Cavaliers improved to 41-10.
Garland — who broke his jaw during the 2023-24 season — has stayed healthy this year and produced fantastic numbers. In his first 48 games, he averaged career highs in points per game (21.8) and field-goal percentage (50.1%).
He was recently named as an Eastern Conference reserve for the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
Garland's resurgence has helped the Cavaliers emerge as a legitimate championship contender. As of Wednesday night, FanDuel Sportsbook gives Cleveland the third-best championship odds (+750) behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (+230) and Boston Celtics (+210).
