Dallas Mavericks rookie star Cooper Flagg dropped a historic 51 points on Friday as the Mavericks fell to the Orlando Magic 138-127.

At 19 years, three months and 13 days old, Flagg is now the youngest player in NBA history to reach 50 points in a game. The spectacular performance further strengthens his ROTY case as he’s in a tight battle with Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel.

While Flagg erupted for a career-high in points, the Magic played better basketball as a team. Orlando made 56% of their total shots and a blistering 54% of their three-point attempts.

The Mavericks knocked down a respectable 46% of their shot attempts, but made just 33% of their long-range heaves.

Dallas may have taken a loss on the night, but Flagg’s performance should give Mavericks fans some serious excitement for the future.
