Indiana basketball was able to bounce back from the UConn loss on Sunday and finish out the Empire Classic on a high note with a 74-66 win over the Louisville Cardinals. The Hoosiers had a special guest in the historic Madison Square Garden on Monday that many Indiana basketball fans know all too well.

Former Indiana basketball guard and current NBA player Victor Oladipo was in attendance on Monday night to watch the Hoosiers beat Louisville.

After the game, Oladipo spoke with the 2023-24 Indiana basketball team following the big victory. He discussed the impact that Indiana had on his career, what it means to play for Indiana, and more.

“This a different type of monster y’all wearing on your jerseys,” Victor Oladipo said to the team. “Different. Play like it.”

During his time with Indiana, Oladipo led the Hoosiers to the 2013 Big Ten Championship while also being a consensus First-Team All-American (2013) and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2013) among multiple other accomplishments.

Since being drafted in 2013 by the Orlando Magic, the former Indiana guard Victor Oladipo has played for teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets, and the Miami Heat. He has achieved being named an NBA All-Star twice (2018, 2019), All-NBA Third Team (2018), NBA All-Defensive First Team (2018), and many other accomplishments. He currently is rostered on the Rockets.
