Watch: Hawks fans troll D’Angelo Russell amid trade rumors

It's not just the Atlanta Hawks front office that apparently would prefer not to add Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell in a potential trade involving Dejounte Murray. At least part of the fanbase in Atlanta made their feelings known on Tuesday night when the Lakers came to town.

During the Hawks' 138-122 victory over LeBron James and company, ESPN's Dave McMenamin posted a video of the team's fanbase chanting at Russell while he was at the free-throw line. And their message was heard as clear as day.

The Lakers have been linked to Murray as the Feb. 8 trade deadline approaches, but as The Athletic's Sam Amick revealed on 'The Athletic NBA Show' (via HoopsHype ), the Hawks "don't have interest in D'Angelo Russell."

Apparently, the fanbase is ready and willing to hop on board with that, even amid one of the best months of Russell's career. The 27-year-old guard has averaged 22.7 points on 48.8% shooting with 6.0 assists per game in January while also knocking down 45.9% of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Although the Lakers appear to be at the forefront of a potential trade for Murray, based on their current assets and the need to find a third team for Russell, it seems like it'll take a lot of effort on both sides to find a deal. That's especially concerning with the interest Murray could draw league-wide, as he's averaged 21.5 points per game with 5.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds this season. He's also having an exceptional month, posting marks of 23.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 49.4% shooting from the field.
