Watch: Hawks' Trae Young takes shot at Knicks fans during postgame interview

Another chapter was added to the long-standing rivalry between Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and New York Knicks fans on Wednesday.

Following Atlanta's 121-116 home victory over New York, the three-time All-Star took a shot at Knicks fans, whose presence was felt during the back-and-forth game at State Farm Arena.

“I hope these New York fans find their way to the exit real quick," Young said in a courtside postgame interview before booing the Knicks faithful. "Take y’all a-- home.”

Young didn't shoot the ball particularly well in the contest, finishing with 23 points on 7-of-21 shooting from the field while connecting on three of his nine three-point attempts to go along with 10 assists. However, he scored four of Atlanta's final six points to help seal the victory and put a bow on rookie Zaccharie Risacher's career night.

Although the win only brought Young's record to 6-14 against New York in his regular season career, it's not surprising he seized the opportunity to mock Knicks fans. Their feud dates back to the first round of the 2020-21 playoffs when Atlanta eliminated the Knicks in five games as part of its run to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Since that series, Knicks fans haven't held back their feelings toward Young, chanting "F--- Trae Young" after several games, regardless of whether their team had played the Hawks.

During an August appearance on Sixers forward Paul George's show "Podcast P," Young admitted he considered the chants "super funny" and recounted an interaction he had with a Knicks fan.

"I'll never forget this young little girl — if I had to guess, maybe 10 to 12 — just giving me the finger, like right behind the scorers' table," Young told George. "...There's a lot of photos of me looking in the crowd just smiling, that's kind of my reaction, I'm just looking at all these people flipping me off."

Knicks fans surely won't forget Young's latest remarks, which should set up a must-see rematch between New York and Atlanta at Madison Square Garden on January 20, 2025.
