Watch: Patrick Beverley steals pass from Russell Westbrook, calls him 'trash'

Plenty of people have taken the opportunity to troll Russell Westbrook this season, but nobody does it better than Patrick Beverley.

The long-running feud between Westbrook and Beverley was reignited Wednesday night during the Timberwolves' 124-104 win over the Lakers, when Beverley dominated a multi-possession sequence then appeared to call Westbrook "trash" to his own bench.

It all went down near the end of the first half. With just over a minute left to play, Malik Beasley put up a jumper for the Wolves that banged off the rim. Carmelo Anthony got the rebound for the Lakers, but Beverley sprinted in and swiped it away as Anthony turned his head up court. Beverley corralled the loose ball and laid it in for two.

Westbrook brought the ball up the next time down, and Beverley smugly sagged off the poor perimeter shooter, seemingly egging him on to take the jumper. Instead, Westbrook lofted a pass to LeBron James in the post, which Beverley appeared to be waiting for; he sat back until Westbrook let go of the ball, then tracked it down and tapped it out of the air into Beasley's hands.

Beasley took off down the floor and passed to Anthony Edwards, who was fouled on a layup attempt. With the game stopped, Beverley, who had stayed on the other end of the floor during transition, walked past the Lakers bench. He appeared to be yelling "trash!' while pinching his nose, as if he was trying to avoid smelling, well, garbage.

Edwards knocked down both free throws, then hit a three on the next possession. Anthony dunked it with a few seconds left to trim the deficit, but the Lakers entered the half trailing 67-46.

Beverley finished the game with 18 points, six rebounds, one block and three steals. Westbrook finished with 15 points, four boards and five assists on 5-for-12 shooting from the field and 1-for-4 from beyond the arc.

With the win, the Timbewolves improved to 41-30. They sit at seventh in the Western Conference, and are one game back of the Nuggets for the final non-play-in spot.

The Lakers, meanwhile, are now 29-40. They sit in ninth, one game away from being in the 10th and final play-in seed.
