Watch: Rudy Gobert tears up, says mom called in tears, over All-Star snub
Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert opened up about his All-Star snub in an appearance with local media on Friday, and in the end he walked away in tears.

Gobert discussed how his mother called him in tears after he was snubbed.

“My mom called me crying,” Gobert said. “It was tough. It is what it is.”

He said he crafted several drafts on social media posts that he ultimately didn’t send out. And with tears filling his own eyes, he grew too emotional to continue speaking about it.

Another reason this hurts is that Gobert missed out on a $1 million bonus due to this All-Star snub.

Gobert, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is having another outstanding season for the Jazz. He averages 15 points, 12.9 rebounds, an 2.2 blocks per game.
