Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having himself another great season. He’s currently averaging 31.6 points per game and he tied the great Wilt Chamberlain‘s scoring record against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
SGA recorded his 126th consecutive game with at least 20 points, which is a record held by the late and great Chamberlain.
SGA went on to score 35 points, while adding 15 assists and nine rebounds. He shot 14-21 from the field. The Oklahoma City Thunder needed every bucket from the reigning MVP, as his biggest rival for this year’s MVP, Nikola Jokic, had a stellar game himself.
Jokic recorded a monster 32-point, 14-rebound, and 13-assist triple-double, causing the game to go down to the wire. It was then, that SGA buried the Nuggets with a step-back game-winning three-pointer.
The Thunder defeated the Nuggets 129-126.
