Watch: Steph Curry out-shoots Sabrina Ionescu in competitive three-point contest

Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu put on a show during NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

The two went head-to-head in the first NBA versus WNBA three-point contest, with Curry winning on his second-to-last ball.

New York Liberty guard Ionescu set a high bar with 26 points, including a perfect opening rack.

However, Curry was slightly better, finishing with 29 points as he made 21 of his 27 attempts, including eight of his last 10.

The competition was spurred on by Ionescu's historic performance at the 2023 WNBA three-point competition.

During that competition, the former Oregon Duck was 25-of-27 and had 37 points, the most in any NBA or WNBA three-point competition.

Last season, Ionescu set the WNBA record for most threes made in a season (128) while shooting 44.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Curry set the NBA record in 2015-16 (402) and has four of the top five three-point seasons in NBA history.

Afterward, both expressed optimism about the event continuing in future seasons, perhaps with a different cast.

With the extra juice the event brought to All-Star Weekend, it seems like a no-brainer that it would become a tradition regardless of who participates.

As Ionescu said in her on-court interview following the contest, "If you can shoot, you can shoot."
