Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green believes that his team can still be at the top of the NBA at some point. It’s getting harder for Green and the rest of the Warriors to contend. Age has started to take its toll, and injuries have also begun to creep up on them. However, they are still determined to compete for the championship.

For the 2025-26 season, the Warriors are looking to make noise. Golden State still aspires to be a championship club, despite the front office doing nothing to enhance its squad. Currently, the management is still stuck in the Jonathan Kuminga situation, which has been held up due to stagnant contract negotiations.

In recent interviews, NBA stars Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry have both been vocal about staying in title contention. Butler was traded to the Warriors in hopes of winning his first NBA championship. Curry, on the other hand, wants to add a fifth title to his resume.

In a recent post on social media, Green had a practice session with Butler. Like most stars, the 6-foot-6 forward used the offseason to work on his game. After shaking hands with the people he was with, the four-time All-Star addressed the camera and made a strong prediction about what’s to come.

“Great,” Green on how he’s feeling after practice. “We’re about six weeks out. Right were I need to be, baby. And we getting that b***h this year.”

It may be a new season, but it’s still going to be the same old Draymond Green for the Golden State Warriors. He’s still determined to prove that they’re one of the best teams that could contend for an NBA championship.

Former Golden State Warriors star opens up about having “friction” with the others during their title runs

The Golden State Warriors were one of the most dominant teams in the middle of the 2010s. They won three championships during that span, one in 2015 and two in 2017 and 2018. The Warriors did not stop there and added another championship to their name in 2022.

While the Warriors were on that run, they had five-time All-Star Klay Thompson to help them. The current Dallas Mavericks forward appeared as a guest on “Showtime w/ Coop,” where he opened up about having friction with Green and Curry during their title runs.

“For us, there have been a lot of scuffles,” Thompson said. “There have been a lot of bad words said and feelings hurt. But at the end of the day, we know we just want to win. When you raise a banner, you can look past all the stuff you went through as brothers. There were times there would be friction — whether it be Draymond and I, or Steph and I, or Coach and I. It’s just part of it. And you grow from it. You be man enough to leave that on the court and be a professional about it.”

At the end of the day, they still managed to win championships, despite having a few disagreements.
