'We May Have to Play Them More Often' – Golden State Warriors Coach to Explore Drastic Gameplan Change Amid Losing Streak

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is considering a drastic lineup change, following their 127-123 NBA Cup loss against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Rebounding was a huge reason why the Golden State Warriors came up short, as the Portland Trail Blazers had a 52-32 edge in that category, including 21 offensive rebounds. During the postgame press conference, Kerr admitted that he will consider playing a center alongside Draymond Green more often in their next few matches.

“We may have to play two bigs more often – Al (Horford), QP (Quinten Post), or Trayce (Jackson-Davis) with Draymond. We’ll have to look at that,” Kerr stated via ESPN’s Anthony Slater.

Last Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors rolled with a starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Will Richard, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and Draymond Green. In stark contrast, the Portland Trail Blazers started Sidy Cissoko, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija, Jerami Grant, and Donovan Clingan.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry echoed Steve Kerr’s postgame comments when he was asked about the most disappointing aspect of their latest defeat.

“Feel like we played well enough to win, but have nothing to show for it,” Curry explained via 95.7 The Game. “Just some untimely defensive breakdowns led to some open threes down the stretch. Early in the game it was we couldn’t get a rebound. Just defensively together as a unit, didn’t do good enough to give ourselves a chance down the stretch.”

Curry did all he could to carry the Golden State Warriors by contributing 38 points, four assists, and nine three-pointers on 14-for-23 shooting from the field across 38 minutes of action.
