Jaylen Brown was not ready for Jayson Tatum’s absence in Game 7. Having been touted as the possible championship contender, the Boston Celtics once again faltered in their postseason round 1 series. Now then, as the team looks to fine-tune the roster, trade rumors have started to surface. Surprisingly, in a wild speculation, a Western Conference executive wants to pair Brown up with Nikola Jokic.

The Denver Nuggets, too, suffered a brutal setback. Refusing to make excuses following the playoff exit, Jokic will be looking to have a quality partner next year. According to the proposed trade, the Celtics get back Jamal Murray; in turn, Brown joins forces with Jokic.

“He’d be a great match with (Nikola Jokic) and give that group a little more fire, which it needs. Boston would get back Jamal Murray, but he could be a fit there, more of a point guard for them,” the executive, Heavy’s Sean Deveney, conveyed.

Surely, this sounds like a power-packed pairing. But in reality, such a possibility looks quite distant. Currently, neither Brown nor Murray appears likely to land on the trading block. But with the NBA, one can never predict. Especially, with rumors clouding the 29-year-old’s future.

Brad Stevens Responds to Jaylen Brown’s ‘Frustrations’ Claims

Following a harsh playoff loss, tensions were building in the Celtics locker room. In a recent statement, Tracy McGrady claimed Brown felt “frustrated” with the organization. Immediately upon the alarm bells ringing, general manager Stevens took charge of the situation.

I talked to Jalen Monday a little bit after…real quickly, and it was nothing but positive. He has not expressed those frustrations to me… If anybody ever wants to come in and talk about it, and talk about their team, their place, whatever the case may be, I’m all ears. And that would be 1 through 16 [on the roster], not just Jaylen, not just Jayson, not just the guys that have been here. I think it’s really important to be available. So I certainly am, and none of that [frustration from Brown] has been expressed to me,” Stevens said.

Thus, with things looking complicated, all eyes will be on how the situation pans out next.
