Guerschon Yabusele is turning things around after a rough start to life with France at the EuroBasket tournament.

Guerschon Yabusele has been on quite a journey over the last year. After an impressive stint with France at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Yabusele posterized LeBron James in the gold medal game, he found his way back to the NBA.

Yabusele would sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, returning to the league and impressing everyone. His strong campaign then earned him a $12 million contract with the New York Knicks.

This summer, Yabusele earned an even higher honor, being named captain of the French team ahead of the EuroBasket tournament.

“He’s doing amazing. He’s very vocal and leads by example. For us—the new veterans, even though we’re still young—it’s about building that same bond and chemistry. Nothing can break that.”

As the most successful player on the side in terms of European and American domestic basketball, the French team decided that Yabusele was the man to lead them to victory.

While this French side is not nearly as strong as the 2024 Olympic side, they still have one of the best rosters in the tournament.

Many fans expect France to make a deep run this time around and push favorites like Serbia and Spain to the limit. Yabusele will have to lead by example if the
