The NBA and the decision to bring in NBA Two-Way Deals has served as a success in the league. This started way back in 2017 and has been a provision used by everyone in a positive way. Although these players that are on two-way deals aren’t with the team the entire season, they still serve as valuable assets and they come with a lot of basketball experience. These players are more hungrier than the players who already have guaranteed NBA Contracts.

The other day, the Washington Wizards decided to cut ties with G Quenton Jackson. He had been a nice piece to the Wizards and his game had developed quite well too. However, the Wizards decided to go in a different direction with their eyes set on another player , Jared Butler.

Yes, Jared Butler has taken Quenton Jackson’s place on the team as the Wizards have signed him to a two-way deal as well. The Wizards have a very young team and will need some fresh legs as the season goes on. What can Jared Butler offer the Washington Wizards? What will the Washington Wizards expect from Jared Butler?

Well, he has experience. He has spent some time with the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder. His time with the Thunder may have offered him with this opportunity as he will be re-united with former Thunder GM Will Dawkins who is now steering the ship in Washington. So not only will his experience playing for two NBA Franchises help, but he has a comfortable familiarity with Will Dawkins.

Those are sure reasons that we know he will help the Wizards. Jared Butler has been in big games and had big moments too as he is a former College National Champion as he played for the Baylor Bears in 2021 who won the Final Four Most Outstanding Player Award. Year three for Butler should be the year he finally puts it all together. Expect for him to take full advantage of his opportunities attacking the basket and stretching the floor as well. He is a dynamic scorer who can get his own shot at any given time using that god gifted athleticism.
