Following an offseason of significant transactions, the New York Knicks recently made a move for a fan-favorite franchise alum. Jamal Crawford will debut on the MSG broadcast on Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns as the color commentator, alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Breen.
After making waves as a color commentator for TNT during the 2024 playoffs, the MSG network saw a budding talent in Crawford and struck while the iron was hot. Crawford will play partner to Breen for 10 games during the 2024-25 season as a backup to NBA legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier.
The former TNT employee commented on what it means to work alongside Breen.
"Obviously, nobody is Walt "Clyde" Frazier... I'm just happy to sub in for him and have some fun with it," Crawford said.
Crawford played 299 games for the Knicks, averaging a career-high 17.6 points and 4.4 assists. Although Crawford didn't play during a significant era in Knicks history, at least he has great seats to call the Jalen Brunson era squad.
The Knicks are 8-6, which places them fourth in the Eastern Conference, heading into Wednesday's contest against the Suns. New York is on a three-game win streak, the highest of its 2024-25 campaign, and it is looking to take advantage of a Kevin Durant-less Suns at the Footprint Center.
