A new era is upon the NBA. Once the 2025-26 season commences, the NBA will have two media partners replacing TNT, which has broadcast games for the professional basketball league since 1988. In its place, a blast from the past will return next season, and it will do so with a bang. NBC announced the official signing of an Indiana Pacers legend.
The Indiana Pacers' success in the 1990s coincided with NBC's. During the numerous years of playoffs and regular-season matchups, Pacers All-Star Reggie Miller provided NBC with classic moments.
After 20 years with TNT, Miller's new home is the network he helped gain legitimate ratings for his classic rivalries against the New York Knicks and battles with the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.
All Pacers discussed the report of Miller signing with NBC, but now the network and the Indiana legend have made it official with public statements from both parties.
NBA on NBC's social media team posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) account: "We are THRILLED to welcome Hall of Famer and NBA 75th Anniversary Team member Reggie Mille to NBC Sports!"
Miller worked as a studio analyst but is best known for his color commentating. TNT primarily paired Miller with the legendary play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan.
NBC has quite a few options for whom to pair with Miller. For one, Mike Tirico has ample experience calling NBA games, as he did for ESPN. At the moment, Tirico is slated as NBC's top play-by-play announcer. Noah Eagle is another option to couple with Miller.
The Pacers legend released a statement responding to the official announcement.
"It's good to be home, NBC Sports... and Hello Peacock! Some of my most memorable moments have been on NBC, and I'm looking forward to creating more," Miller said.
Miller's 20-year tenure with TNT ends after the 2025 Western Conference Finals.
