Who is Donovan Mitchell’s Fiancee, Coco Jones? All About the Cavaliers Star’s Personal Life

What began as a quiet dating rumor in 2024 has now become one of the most talked-about celebrity relationships in the NBA. From crossing paths at a party to an engagement announcement on social media, Donovan Mitchel and his fiancee Coco Jones have come a long way in their romantic relationship.

Before the NBA spotlight and her courtside presence for the Cavaliers games, Jones had already built a successful career in music and television. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised in Tennessee, the 28-year-old had her first break in a Disney musical, especially through Let it Shine.

Later, she transitioned into an R&B singer and consistently produced quality music. Jones has around 25 singles, multiple EPs, and a studio album under her name. Most importantly, she won a Grammy Award for her song “ICU”.

The couple announced their engagement in July 2025 after keeping their relationship under wraps for over a year.

Coco Jones initially shared a photo on Instagram, a pair kissing with the sun in the background, with a blank caption. Shortly after that, Donovan Mitchell shared the proposal video, revealing the exotic location where he proposed, confirming their engagement.

Following that, Coco Jones was often spotted in the courtside seats of the Cavaliers games.

Moreover, Jones lately captured a lot of hearts in the NBA world with her constant support of Donovan Mitchell and his postseason run with the Cavaliers.

Despite the team’s shaky run in the playoffs, something remained constant, and that was Jones’ presence.

Especially in Game 3 of the semifinal series against the Pistons, Jones not only showed support, but it was her emotional reaction to fans’ applause for Mitchell that grabbed everyone’s attention.

How did Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell meet?

While there is no clarity on where the couple first met, several reports claim that Mitchell and Jones met during Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July White Party in 2023.

It didn’t make it to the news immediately, until the couple grabbed attention in 2024 after they were spotted holding hands at the Usher concert in Las Vegas. Since then, the two have made multiple public appearances.

Speaking of keeping her relationship private in the Club Shay Shay podcast in February 2025, she said, “I’m trying to protect myself, and I’m trying to protect my family and whoever I love. So, yeah, I am more private.”

Months later, they announced their engagement. Since then, Coco Jones has been the greatest cheerleader for Donovan Mitchell from the sidelines. Hopefully, the Cavs make a deeper playoff run, with many already calling her a lucky charm.
