The Golden State Warriors remain without a signing as free agency rolls on, still yet to secure any fresh arrivals.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that the franchise is poised to bolster the squad with two new additions soon.

In the meantime, the focus has shifted to internal options – particularly Summer League standouts. LJ Cryer has drawn attention for his perimeter shooting in college, though it was Gabe Madsen who impressed in their 103-93 victory over Utah.

Madsen came off the bench for the Warriors as they took on the Jazz, who were without Ace Bailey. Even so, he made a strong impression in his limited minutes.

In 16 minutes of play, Madsen hit six three-pointers, going 6-of-12 from beyond the arc and 7-of-12 overall.

He finished with a team-high 22 points on 58 percent shooting, adding a rebound and an assist to round out his night.

Gabe Madsen’s background and path to the NBA

After four years with the Utah Utes, Gabe Madsen went undrafted in 2025.

Standing 6’6″, the Wisconsin native capped off his college run with 15.3 points per game and over 1,000 career points. He also left his mark as the school’s top three-point shooter of all time.

One of his most memorable outings came against Cincinnati, where he sank eight shots from deep – the highest single-game total in that Big 12 season.

Kansas coach Bill Self took notice of Madsen after Utah’s win over Kansas last year. “I think he’s one of the best movers without the ball in order to free himself,” he told 24/7 Sports.

“And he probably doesn’t get the credit that he probably deserves on being athletic, because he can create separations, and he’s got great legs and everything. But the bottom line is he hurt us bad,” the coach added.

Madsen still has work to do to make it from Summer League into an NBA rotation spot. But there are early signs that he may be on his way towards securing a two-way contract with Golden State.

His outside shooting ability fits well with what the Warriors have been known for over the years, and if he keeps this up, he could find himself on their roster sooner rather than later.
