Anthony Edwards’ personality was on full display during NBA All-Star weekend.
The Minnesota Timberwolves guard is known for his confidence and off-the-cuff answers, and that trait was evident on one of the league’s biggest stages.
Media sessions during All-Star weekend often produce viral moments. This time, it was a question about global football that sparked the reaction.
Edwards’ response about Cristiano Ronaldo quickly made the rounds online.
During an All-Star Q&A session, Edwards was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo. His answer appeared completely genuine.
“Cristiano Ronaldo? Who is that? What does he play?” The reaction surprised many, given Ronaldo’s global profile.
The Portuguese superstar has 672 million Instagram followers, making him one of the most followed athletes on the planet. Edwards, by comparison, has around 5 million followers.
The moment highlighted how different sporting worlds can exist in their own bubbles, even at the highest level.

The Ronaldo exchange was not the only memorable part of Edwards’ All-Star appearance.
He also offered his unfiltered views on several sporting legends. “I’m not f—ing with Tiger Woods,” he claimed. “What did buddy say, ‘I’m Tiger Wish-He-Could.'”
Two more responses read: “I can’t f— with Michael Phelps” and “Shohei Ohtani? Buddy is hard.”
“She’s got it. I’m not going to s— on the women,” he said about Coco Gauff. “I’m going to let the women have it.”
However, he suggested that he would like his chances against Michael Jordan. “Oh, nah, I’d get MJ.”
The combination of supreme confidence and humor is part of what makes Edwards one of the NBA’s most watchable personalities.
