Why Dennis Rodman Is Entering the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026

Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The announcement was first reported by ESPN, WWE’s official media partner, on Friday morning.

WWE’s Hall of Fame includes a celebrity wing that has honored major names from sports and entertainment. Figures like Drew Carey, Mike Tyson, Ozzy Osbourne, and Donald Trump have all been inducted.

Rodman now joins that group as the 15th celebrity inductee.

The timing is no coincidence. WWE’s multi-million dollar media partnership with ESPN plays a clear role, especially with WrestleMania set to stream exclusively on ESPN platforms in the United States for the first time.

An NBA icon, Rodman will be right at home during WrestleMania weekend.

Rodman’s Wrestling History, Explained

Dennis Rodman and professional wrestling have always been a natural fit.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Rodman embraced the role of a rebel during his NBA career—arguably outperforming some wrestlers in the “heel” role.

While he never competed in WWE, Rodman made his mark in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), WWE’s chief rival during the 1990s. WWE later acquired WCW and now owns its tape library and history.

Rodman debuted on WCW’s Monday Nitro on March 10, 1997. Just six days later, he appeared at Uncensored, where he officially joined the nWo.

His first match came a few months later at Bash at the Beach 1997, teaming with Hulk Hogan against Lex Luger and The Giant.

Who Will Induct Dennis Rodman?

The Hall of Fame isn’t just about honoring inductees—it’s also a television event. Inductors play a major role in the overall presentation and business appeal.

A year ago, Hogan would have been the obvious choice, but that is no longer an option.

Likely candidates include key WCW figures like Kevin Nash and Eric Bischoff, both closely tied to Rodman’s time in the nWo.

WWE could also opt for a current star like Trick Williams, similar to when John Cena inducted William “The Refrigerator” Perry in 2006.

When is the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame?

The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on April 17 in Las Vegas at Dolby Live.

Rodman joins a class that already includes Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, and Demolition.
