Josh Hart and the New York Knicks have agreed to a four-year, $81M contract. It was an inevitable re-signing for the Knicks as Hart is one of the best role players across the NBA and the heartbeat of the team.

Last season, Hart averaged 9.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists and shot 52.9 percent from the field.
After being dealt at the trade deadline by the Portland Trail Blazers for Cam Reddish, Hart flourished next to his Villanova teammate, Jalen Brunson.
In 25 games with the Knicks, he shot an impressive 51.9 percent from beyond the arc and boasted of an outstanding offensive rating of 136 and a defensive rating of 112 -- estimated points produced and allowed per 100 possessions. For context, two-time MVP Nikola Jokić had an offensive rating of 134 last season.
It was an unparalleled level of intelligence that Hart was displaying with New York.
In case you forgot, watch Hart sink a ridiculously clutch three-pointer on a hobbled ankle in the final two minutes of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers:

Beyond the box score is where Hart showcases how special he is.
Defensively, he's nearly perfect, making few mistakes on a nightly basis.
Oftentimes, he's perfect and he always knows exactly where to be -- especially in help and recover situations. It's a rare skill that many great on-ball defenders don't possess.
On the defensive end of the court, he is to the Knicks what Draymond Green is to the Golden State Warriors. It's a skill set that is just so unique and valuable in the modern NBA.
His defensive ability combined with his outstanding effort makes Hart a one-of-a-kind basketball player. His average of 7.4 boards in the playoffs last season is a testament to that effort.
"My game, my style, my play, it's not always the most glamorous... but hard work pays off," Hart said via Joe Vardon of The Athletic after signing his new deal.
Hart will be vital in anything the Knicks accomplish within these next four years.
