Although the world isn't ending, the sky feels like it's falling in Indiana. Given the Indiana Pacers' disappointing 9-14 record, they don't have much room for error and need good news fast. However, their injury report for Friday's contest at the Chicago Bulls failed to provide much optimism for a team desperate for an answer to their persistent losing.
Since the Pacers' season-opener vs. the Detroit Pistons, they've experienced long-term injuries. Aside from James Wisemand and Isaiah Jackson's season-ending Achilles injuries, their backcourt depth is also ravaged by players missing games.
The Pacers are 1-4 in their last five games, seeking a ray of light in an otherwise dark season. Their injury report, though, lacks any silver lining.
In addition to their injury woes, their star player hasn't risen to the occasion, given Haliburton's 17-point average on a well-below-league average 51 effective field-goal percentage.
Unless the Pacers receive an update for Friday's game, their injury report alludes to many of the same regarding players missing contests. The Pacers stars must step up as their depth continues to take hits in the injury department.
