Will the Thunder add more to repeat as NBA champions?

The Oklahoma City Thunder just capped off one of the best seasons in NBA history. They tied the 1996-97 Chicago Bulls for the third-most wins in a single season with 84 while also winning the NBA championship.

However, the Thunder still can add to this juggernaut.

The Thunder have a treasure chest of draft picks largely because they traded Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers several years ago. The trade also led them to receive reigning Finals and regular-season MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

With a championship roster still intact, could the Thunder look to add even more? ESPN's Jonathan Givony suggests the Thunder want to move into the top 10 of the 2025 NBA Draft, which begins on Wednesday.

The Thunder have the picks to make that jump and grab another young piece to go along with this core. They also have the 12th overall pick in last year's draft, Nikola Topic, who missed all of this past season with a torn ACL. In a way, they could be adding two lottery picks to this team next season.

Several veterans could also be available in trades, such as Cam Johnson of the Brooklyn Nets, who has been rumored to be a trade candidate this offseason. Malik Monk is also a name that has been floating around in trade rumors, as the Sacramento Kings are reportedly looking for a first-round pick. He can be an elite scorer off the bench. The Utah Jazz are reportedly looking to move John Collins and his expiring contract; he could give the Thunder some depth in the frontcourt.

The Thunder have a chance to win back-to-back titles, which would be the first time we've seen repeat champs since the Golden State Warriors did it in 2017 and 2018. Even without any moves thus far, the Thunder are the prohibitive favorites to win it all next season. DraftKings has them as +225 favorites, while the next best odds are the Houston Rockets at +750.

The Thunder have all the tools to add to an already loaded championship team, and it sounds as though that is what they plan to do.
