Will Tyler Herro be included in Heat's offer for Bradley Beal?

The Miami Heat have emerged as one of two finalists for the services of three-time All-Star Bradley Beal. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Heat and the Phoenix Suns have entered serious trade talks in hopes of acquiring the Washington Wizards star.

However, should the Heat strike a deal with Washington, they'd prefer to do so without including Tyler Herro in the package.

Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported on Sunday that Miami is working to complete a deal for Beal without including the former Sixth Man of the Year.

Instead, the Heat's offer is believed to be built around the expiring contract of Kyle Lowry ($29.6M), at least one first-round pick and either Duncan Robinson or Victor Oladipo.

Herro averaged 20-plus points for the second consecutive season in 2022-23. A career 38.3% shooter from deep, the 23-year-old would be Miami's most prized trade chip should they opt to make him available and certainly wouldn't hurt the team's chances of landing Beal. With that said, Beal's desire to play in Miami may be enough to swing the odds in the Heat's favor regardless.

Beal is the lone player in the NBA with a no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he gets the final say on where he's traded this offseason (if he's traded). A former collegiate standout at the University of Florida, a return to the Sunshine State could most certainly prove appealing to Beal.

Miami being in the running for Beal's services shouldn't come as much of a surprise. The reigning Eastern Conference Champions have been readily linked to Beal in recent years, while the potential fit is obvious.

Despite Miami's postseason success, they finished 2022-23 as the NBA's lowest-scoring team, averaging just 109.5 points per contest. Beal, who has averaged 30-plus points in two of the last four seasons, would serve as a lightning rod for Miami's scoring chops and entrench them as East favorites heading into 2023-24.
