Dillon Brooks has shot 21.6 percent from three-point range in the first round against the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James has been even worse against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Brooks-James matchup has been full of trash talk -- and also full of horrible shooting from distance.

Brooks is 8-0f-37 on three-pointers in the series while James is 6-of-36. Neither player presents a threat from outside the arc, which is a big reason both teams' offenses have struggled outside of fast-break opportunities.
And missed three-pointers often translate to fast breaks, especially when it is a team's primary defender missing the shot. That's why three-pointers -- specifically from Brooks, who the Lakers are leaving open, and James, who the Grizzlies are daring to shoot instead of drive -- figure to be huge in Game 6.
There has been a lot of talk about who is old and who is a dirty player. But Game 6 may come down to which of these wings can simply shoot an average percentage from three-point range. So far, each team has been able to play off Brooks and James, essentially shrinking the space inside for players like Anthony Davis and Ja Morant.
But if Memphis (23rd in the NBA in three-point percentage) or Los Angeles (25th) can provide an outside threat, it could tilt the series, which has been characterized by long shooting droughts from both competing outfits.
James and Brooks are going to battle. But it might come down which player makes outside shots with no one battling them -- and even ignoring them -- who determines whether the series goes to Memphis for Game 7.
