Wizards' Bradley Beal under police investigation after incident with fans

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal is under police investigation following a postgame confrontation with two fans last week, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

The complaint was issued on March 22 according to the Orlando Police Department, per the report, "roughly 24 hours" after the Wizards' road loss against the Orlando Magic. According to TMZ Sports, the altercation started when Beal was "walking down a tunnel" to the team's locker room at Amway Center.

"One of the guys in a group yelled at Beal, 'You f***ed me [out of] $1,300, you f***!'" the TMZ report said. "Beal then turned, walked toward the fans, and appeared to knock the hat off one of the guys' heads in response to the heckle."

The three-time All-Star and the two men reportedly "jawed back and forth" for "about 50 seconds," with Beal calling the fans' comments "disrespectful" and replying "Keep it a buck. ... I don't give a f*** about none of your bets or your parlays, bro. That ain't why I play the game."

The 29-year-old former Florida Gator was eventually brought to the locker room "without further incident," but is now reportedly being investigated for battery.

Beal hasn't played since the altercation -- missing Washington's last three games with a reported knee injury. The sharpshooter signed a five-year, $251 million max contract with the team in July 2022 and has averaged 23.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game across 50 contests this season while posting a career-high 50.6% shooting percentage.
