Wizards HC Wes Unseld Jr. enters NBA's health and safety protocols

The Washington Wizards have won three games in a row to move over the .500 mark at 22-20. To continue their winning streak, they'll have to do it without head coach Wes Unseld Jr.

Unseld Jr. is in his first season as a head coach after spending 16 years as an assistant with four different teams. The 46-year-old was a Wizards assistant under Eddie Jordan, Ed Tapscott and the late Flip Saunders from the 2005-2006 through 2010-2011 campaign and then worked with Mark Jackson and the 2011-2012 Golden State Warriors club.

The son of Hall of Fame center Wes Unseld worked with the Orlando Magic under Jacque Vaughn and briefly James Borrego from 2012 to 2015 before spending the last six seasons with Michael Malone and the Denver Nuggets.

Washington will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
