Wizards Injury Update: Landry Shamet
USA TODAY Sports

Just before the Washington Wizards tip off against the Philadelphia 76ers , the Wizards announced that Landry Shamet is out for tonight’s contest with a right rib sprain).

Shamet had an impactful showing off the bench last Friday in the Wizards matchup against the Orlando Magic. The guard compiled 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting (3-3 3PT), also adding two assists in 18 minutes off the bench. Shamet has now scored in double figures in six games from off the bench this season. The December 1 match-up against the Magic marked Shamet’s ninth game with more than two three-pointers made from off the bench this season.

Projected starting line-ups for tonight’s Wizards vs Sixers game is below:

Projected Starters

Washington Wizards:

Guards: Jordan Poole (Game Time Decision), Tyus Jones

Forwards: Kyle Kuzma, Deni Avdija

Center: Daniel Gafford

Philadelphia 76ers:

Guards: Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton (Game Time Decision)

Forwards: Tobias Harris, Kelly Oubre Jr. (former Washington Wizard returning to his former home team court after injuries sustained in a hit and run).

Center: Joel Embiid

From Inside The Wizards Staff Writer Tyrone Montgomery on the Bottom Line for tonight’s match-up:

There is no one tougher to play against than a big man who is as dominant as Joel Embiid. He has had nine days of rest. His last game he played, Embiid had a triple double in just three quarters of play against LeBron James and the LA Lakers. Not only is the big man scoring as he always does, but he is rebounding at an efficient rate as well as finding his teammates and getting assist too. The Wizards are certain to struggle, especially giving the amount of rest Joel Embiid has had.
