Wizards PG Tyus Jones: Spurs Trade Target?
Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Spurs could be "keeping up with the Joneses" pretty soon.

With the NBA Trade Deadline just three days away, the Spurs have to decide whether to make a deal and address some needs, specifically at the point guard position.

CBS Sports suggests that the team could make a move and trade for Washington Wizards guard Tyus Jones, reuniting him with his brother Tre.

"Tyus Jones could be had for a weak first-rounder and checks the same traditional point guard boxes that his brother Tre does," CBS Sports writes. "Together, they could organize the offense around Wembanyama while the Spurs seek out a longer-term, higher-upside floor-general."

Tre Jones has yet to prove that he is the point guard of the future, and Tyus likely wouldn't take that title either. However, bringing him onto the roster would give the team some stronger point guard play to help Victor Wembanyama further establish himself in the NBA.

Tyus is averaging 12.1 points and 6.3 assists in his first season with the Wizards this year, but Washington is towards the bottom of the standings alongside San Antonio.

Washington is also seen as a seller at the deadline, but perhaps they would be willing to trade with San Antonio in order to get some value for him before he has a chance to leave in free agency this summer.

The NBA Trade Deadline is set for Thursday at 2 p.m. CT.
