As soon as news broke that the Washington Wizards and Justin Champagnie had agreed on a new four-year $10 million deal, the swingman’s teammates flocked online to congratulate him.

Champagnie entered the league in 2021 as an undrafted prospect from the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining the Wizards, he had stints with the Toronto Raptors, its G League affiliate Raptors 905, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and the Boston Celtics.
He signed a ten-day contract with the Wizards in February of 2024. On March 3, he inked a two-way contract with the squad. The 23-year-old has played 55 games for the Wizards so far. This season, Justin is averaging 7.5 points on 50.4% shooting from the field and 37.6% from downtown.
