The Minnesota Timberwolves are in a state of bother at the moment. Having won the first game against the San Antonio Spurs, the Wolves were looking confident. Unfortunately, in the next two games, the Spurs came out on top, leaving the Timberwolves with a 1-2 deficit. However, after the Game 1 loss, a wild interaction between Tony Brothers and Chris Finch grabbed all the attention.
The Wolves’ fans have remained quite frustrated with officiating during their playoff run. But what transpired in the middle between Finch and Brothers was quite an event. Late in the game, as Minnesota was trailing, the Wolves’ head coach wanted to opt for a timeout. But with just over five minutes remaining, the stoppage did not happen, and Chris Finch got into a heated altercation with Brothers.
As tempers flared, Timberwolves guard Bones Hyland also joined the fray. Shockingly, at one point, the staff appeared to hold back Tony Brothers. Reflecting on the incident after the game, the Timberwolves’ head coach said, “I wanted the timeout and I said I want my 3 seconds back. He clearly heard me. He lost it. Then I went to ask him where the ball was gonna be taken in and he was screaming at me for that. So completely unprofessional behavior by him.”

Surely, this was a serious situation, and things could have easily gotten out of hand. Thankfully, Anthony Edwards stepped in to calm the situation. However, following the loss, Edwards had quite a different take on the entire fiasco.
‘Antman’ has been putting up a sporty attitude in recent times. And apparently, the brothers’ reaction towards Chris Finch, too, wasn’t enough to infuriate him. One of the reasons might be the team’s current form. After all, losing 108-115 will surely sting. Thus, instead of focusing on the outside noise, the 24-year-old tried to make peace.
“It’s competition at the highest level man. We want to win, Finchy want to win. Tony Brothers is Tony Brothers. You know, we all love him, so it’s all good,” said Edwards.
