The Timberwolves have released five players to trim their roster down to the regular season limit, the team announced in a press release.

The list includes third-year power forward Enrique Freeman, who held a two-way contract. Minnesota plans to keep the two-way slot open to see which players become available in the next few days, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic (Twitter link).

Freeman, 26, signed a two-way deal with the Wolves last summer and appeared in four NBA games while also playing for their G League affiliate. He was re-signed to another two-way contract in July.

The other four players waived today were all on Exhibit 10 deals. They are Antonio Reeves, KJ Martin, Norchad Omier and Drew Timme.

Martin, 29, has the most experience of that group. The 6’6″ forward has appeared in 309 combined games over the past five seasons with the Rockets, Clippers, Sixers and Jazz. He played in China last season and was hoping to make an NBA comeback with the Wolves.

Reaves, a second-round pick in 2024, has appeared in 54 total games with New Orleans and Charlotte during his first two NBA seasons. The 6’5″ shooting guard spent last season on a two-way contract with the Hornets.

Omier, a 6’7″ power forward, appeared in six games with the Clippers last season after joining them in February on a two-way deal. He also logged 38 G League games with the San Diego Clippers and Cleveland Charge.

Timme, a 6’9″ power forward, got into 27 games with the Lakers last season after appearing in nine with the Nets as a rookie. He has also spent time with the Wisconsin Herd, Stockton Kings, Long Island Nets and South Bay Lakers in the G League.

All five players could wind up with the team’s G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, after they clear waivers. Minnesota is now down to 13 players with fully guaranteed contracts, plus Trey Lyles, whose deal is partially guaranteed until January 10.
