Young Minnesota Timberwolves Star Gets HUGE Payday After Winning Big Personal Accolade
Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are still coming to terms with the fact that they’re now one of the best teams in the NBA. Anthony Edwards’ ascent to superstardom was expected, but only a few would have predicted his rise to come as quickly as it did.

The sudden uptick in his performance is directly correlated to the Timberwolves’ postseason success, and his young age means there’s more to come from the Georgia product. Opposing fans would only shudder at the thought of Ant-Man even getting better as time goes by.

With how Edwards has been playing, it’s easy to see him becoming a more influential player in the future. While his performance in Game 1 against the Mavericks frustrated his head coach, his feats in the regular season are doing wonders for his bank account.

Anthony Edwards get a $41 million bonus from the Minnesota Timberwolves for making 2024 All-NBA Team

Sai Mohan of Yardbarker reported that two superstars will get insane paydays after the most recent All-NBA Teams were announced. One is Minnesota’s Edwards, and the other is Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Both players signed huge deals with their respective teams, but they both have clauses that will give them a huge bonus if they manage to make an All-NBA Team in their contracts. Mohan explained the clause in better detail:

Anthony Edwards, 22, and Tyrese Haliburton, 24, have earned an additional $41 million in bonuses on their rookie scale contracts by making All-NBA teams.

Both stars signed rookie max extensions last summer worth 25 percent of the salary cap (five years, $204 million) with the potential to increase to 30 percent (five years, $ $245 million) if they made any of the three All-NBA teams. While Edwards made the second team, Haliburton clinched one of the final few spots on the third team by edging out the likes of Jaylen Brown, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey.

Edwards’s phenomenal run for the Minnesota Timberwolves this year warrants his All-NBA ranking. He and the Timberwolves fans will be hoping that this isn’t the last time they’ll see Edwards make an All-NBA team.
