Zach LaVine could give Bulls discount?

After finally making his first All-Star appearance, Zach LaVine has cemented himself as a permanent building block for the Bulls.

That alone puts the Bulls in a good place, but things could get even better for them pretty soon, with the latest report indicating a golden opportunity for the franchise. Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times noted Chicago could get LaVine to re-sign at a "slight discount":

“The Sun-Times, as well as several other media outlets, reported at the start of the 2020-21 campaign that it was important for LaVine to be given max money moving forward.

"However, there are several sources who said that might not be the case any longer, as adding key role players around him could persuade LaVine to give the Bulls a slight discount.”

The Bulls have been in a pretty bad way for years now, mostly due to mismanagement by the front office. Between poor roster-building decisions and the Jim Boylen fiasco, it's almost surprising to hear LaVine might be willing to show such loyalty to the franchise.

Nevertheless, the Bulls could be a team to watch out for in the future. With LaVine, Nikola Vucevic and Lauri Markkanen, they have a solid core that will only continue to get better.

If the Bulls make the right decisions this summer, it could get them another step closer in the right direction.
