The increasingly reclusive Zion Williamson is making a rare appearance this week, albeit on social media.
The New Orleans Pelicans star reposted an Instagram message on Thursday from teammate Willy Hernangomez saying that they had Williamson’s back.
Williamson shared Hernangomez’s post to his Story, adding the caption “My dawgs 4L” with a “100” emoji. “4L” is slang for “for life.”

The exchange comes amid rumors this week painting Williamson as a bad teammate. The former No. 1 pick, who has not played all year, is rehabbing away from the team and has come under fire for supposedly being detached. One of Williamson’s ex-Pelicans teammates recently unloaded on him for a lack of investment in the organization. It was also a bad look for Williamson that he apparently failed to welcome a new teammate to New Orleans.
Now Williamson appears to be jumping at the opportunity to show off to his 4.8 million Instagram followers that he is indeed well-liked by teammates. Talk is cheap, however, and Williamson will need more than a social media post to prove he is a fully-invested teammate and a leader for the Pelicans.
