Elon Musk Calls Out Apple, Threatens Legal Action

Elon Musk is taking Apple to task over its lack of promotion of not only X, but the Grok app, also.

Musk wondered aloud on social media why the App Store does not have X or the Grok app, which is an artificial intelligence chatbot created by xAI, the company founded by Musk, in its "Must Have Apps" section.

Musk's reasoning comes from the fact that neither app appears on the list despite X being the No. 1 news app in the world and Grok landing at No. 5 overall among free apps.

"Hey Apple App Store, why do you refuse to put either X or Grok in your “Must Have” section when X is the #1 news app in the world and Grok is #5 among all apps?" Musk asked.

"Are you playing politics? What gives? Inquiring minds want to know," he added.

Musk also believes that Apple is giving preference to ChatGPT, another AI chatbot that Apple has a partnership with. He is even threatening legal action.

"Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation," Musk said

"xAI will take immediate legal action."

The App Store's "Must Have Apps" section is a curated list of top-rated and popular apps on the platform.

As of this writing, Apple has not responded to Musk.
