The UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team made history on Sunday. Despite facing a women’s college basketball powerhouse, the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Bruins didn’t back down to the challenge and swept Dawn Staley’s team off the floor.

Gabriela Jaquez led the way with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes. Lauren Betts, who returned to the team for her final season, contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds for the national champions.

They ended the South Carolina-UConn domination with a 79-51 win, securing the first NCAA title in program history.

Jimmy Kimmel Uses UCLA Women’s Basketball Team To Mock Donald Trump

On Tuesday, coach Cori Close and her top UCLA Women’s basketball team top players appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The host couldn’t help but bring politics into the discussion, asking the group if they’ve heard from President Donald Trump.

“We have not,” guard Kiki Rice responded.

Kimmel then joked about them taking a fake trophy to the White House, so Trump takes it.

“He’s not going to know, but when you bring a trophy he sometimes takes it and keeps it for himself,” Kimmel said. “So this is for you guys to take to the White House and say, ‘President Trump, we want you to have this. He’ll be so happy.”

The comedian and the politician have clashed plenty of times. It doesn’t seem like they will make amends anytime soon, as neither looks interested in that.

The Bruins will have a celebration at Pauley Pavilion this Wednesday. It will begin at 6 p.m. PT.
