Last week, on the eve of Super Bowl LIV, the NFL handed out its regular-season awards featuring some surprises and one big, obvious winner. Saints wideout Michael Thomas broke the record for receptions in a season and was rewarded by becoming just the second receiver to ever win Offensive Player of the Year. Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore took home Defensive Player of the Year. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was named Offensive Rookie of the Year while the Niners' Nick Bosa took home the same award on the defensive side. The only suspense for Lamar Jackson was if he would become the second unanimous MVP in league history, which he did after his historic sophomore season as a pro. Not too bad for a running back...
