Yadier Molina officially has one season left in him.
The 39-year-old veteran catcher signed a one-year extension earlier this week, then came out the next day and made it official that 2022 will be his last in MLB. The youngest and most talented of the Molina brothers joined the Cardinals in 2004 as a 21-year-old and has been a mainstay in St. Louis ever since. In that time, Molina has made 10 All-Star Games, won nine Gold Gloves and four Platinum Gloves (given to the best overall fielder regardless of position). He also helped the Cards win the World Series twice. The preeminent defensive catcher of his generation, Molina will spark an interesting Hall of Fame debate when he hangs 'em up after next season.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. Since 1957, MLB has awarded players for superior individual fielding performances at each position with the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. In that time, 22 different players have earned at least nine Gold Gloves at their respective positions, including Molina. So with that in mind, how many of the 22 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
