On second thought, Jimmy Garoppolo will be sticking around San Francisco a little longer.
After months of trade talks and rumors of a possible release, the Niners and Garoppolo restructured the veteran QB's contract on Monday, allowing the 30-year-old veteran to remain in red and gold for one more season in a backup role. It's a curious ending to the Niners' QB saga, one that was reportedly driven by GM John Lynch's desire to keep Jimmy G. away from the division-rival Seattle Seahawks. All told, it's probably the right move for both the team and the player. The Niners now have one of, if not the, best backups in football, while Garoppolo can step back into the starting role on a playoff team should Trey Lance stumble out of the gate or get injured.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. Garoppolo may not be a superstar, but his 4-2 postseason record as a starter shows that he can win playoff games. So with that in mind, can you name the last quarterback to win a playoff game for every NFL team? Five minutes are on the clock.
Good luck!
