NBA Finals: Tonight's the night for Nuggets and this pair of props

Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports

The Heat are down 3-1 to Denver, and it seems likely that the Nuggets will be crowned NBA champs later tonight at home. They've won all three of their games by double digits and are 9.5-point favorites, so it's going to be an uphill climb for Miami to extend this series. Rather than focus on the spread or total, we'll go back to the player prop well.

Two props for tonight

Jamal Murray 10+ assists (+170 FD)

We guided you incorrectly on Friday, opting for Murray's PRA prop rather than just hone in on the catalyst for the Denver guard's success. First and foremost, Murray has been creating for his teammates all series long.

He's gone for 10+ assists in all four games, finishing with 12 in Game 4, and there's no reason to shy away from that outcome again here in a Finals-clinching scenario. Murray is averaging an absurd 18 potential assists per game this series, suggesting there's room for even more production.

His standard line is set at 8.5 (-102), a perfectly cromulent option for your wager tonight. We'll take a stab at plus-money instead and opt for another double-digit dime affair.

Duncan Robinson over 1.5 threes made (-140 DK)

Miami is sure to push the pace on offense, and that likely includes more threes attempted. The Heat need to make something happen, and Duncan Robinson offers us some nice opportunity to ride that wave.

The Heat sharpshooter has drained 2+ threes in three straight games against Denver and saw a series-high 25 minutes in Game 4.

If that playing time role can remain for Robinson, this prop line becomes incredibly inviting. When Robinson logs 20+ minutes of court time, he's averaged 3.2 made threes per game this postseason, going over 1.5 in 11 of the 12 games.

In the news ...

Nick Taylor's incredible putt powers historic RBC Canadian win — It took a fourth playoff hole, but Nick Taylor became the first Canadian golfer to win the RBC Canadian Open in 69 years. The finish was absolutely unbelievable, with Taylor nailing a 72-foot putt for the walk-off eagle. You're going to want to catch that in case you missed it. Taylor was +6600 to win the event prior to Thursday. Next up is the U.S. Open: We'll have more coverage for you later this week!

Novak Djokovic wins record 23rd major tournament — Djokovic dispatched of Casper Ruud in straight sets Sunday to capture his third French Open title and his record-breaking 23rd major win. With the victory, the Serbian star surpassed Rafael Nadal for most men's singles titles in history. Wimbledon is the next major on the docket, beginning June 25. Djokovic has won four straight Wimbledon titles and is -125 to take it home again.

Rockets may pursue Kyrie Irving this summer — It's widely known that Houston is looking to reunite with former franchise cornerstone James Harden, but should that pursuit fall short, a potential alternative option might be Kyrie Irving. The Rockets seem poised to ramp up their rebuild with new coach Ime Udoka and a promising core of Jalen Green, Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun. Keep an eye on Rockets' future bets. They do have the makeup of a team that should be more competitive next season. Currently, Houston is 100-1 to win the NBA title in 2024.

Quick Picks

1 Miami Heat @ Denver Nuggets

This series feels like toast to us. Denver is just the better team, taking all three of their wins by double digits. The Heat did grab a win here in Denver, but we're not too confident they can extend this NBA Finals tonight. The Nuggets are going to be NBA champs, and they seem likely to do it convincingly. We're rocking with Denver -8.5.

Heat
+9 (-110) +310 > 209 (-110)
Nuggets
-8.5 (-110) -350 < 209 (-110)
2 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over 2.5 rebounds

KCP has been a steady producer on the glass, surpassing this 2.5 line in nine of his last 10 games, including seven straight. He seems likely to maintain that production, and we'll opt to back the streak rolling on here in Game 5.

Latest Odds:  -140
3 Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers

This should be a fun one. Two of the best offenses meet in an AL West clash, and we like this series to begin with runs scored. Dane Dunning is solid for Texas, but he's been leaking runs recently, allowing seven runs over his last two starts. Tyler Anderson has a 5.62 ERA and has allowed 10 runs over his last two appearances. Roll with the over 9.5.

Rangers

4 Tampa Bay Rays @ Oakland Athletics

It doesn't get more lopsided than this, does it? We've got Tampa Bay, at 48-20, owners of the best record in baseball. On the other end is Oakland, the worst team in MLB at 17-50. The crazy thing is that the Athletics have won five straight, but today's pitchers make it clear where our bets need to go. Zach Eflin is 8-1 with a 2.97 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Oakland is trotting out the 1-6 James Kaprielian, owner of a 7.21 ERA. Give us Tampa Bay -1.5.

Rays
-1.5 (-164) -255 > 8.5 (-105)
Athletics

5 James Paxton over 7.5 strikeouts

Paxton has made five starts this year for Boston, fanning 8+ batters in three of them. He's piled up 17 Ks over his last two outings and will face the Rockies today, who are striking out at the sixth-highest rate against LHP. Blake Snell, a fellow lefty, finished with 12 strikeouts just yesterday against this lineup. Here's to Paxton finding a similar groove.

Latest Odds:  -110
6 Jesus Luzardo over 6.5 strikeouts

Miami's Luzardo has finished with seven or more strikeouts in five straight games, and we like that to extend here tonight in Seattle. The Mariners are striking out at the third-highest rate against lefties, and Luzardo has been one of the league's best strikeout pitchers this season. Grab his over today.
