On Wednesday night, New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German became the 24th player in MLB history to throw a perfect game. The 30-year-old veteran only needed 99 pitches to dominate the woebegone Oakland A's lineup, striking out nine of the 27 batters he faced on his way to baseball immortality. It's also the fourth time a member of the Yankees has pulled off the feat, the most in league history. No player has ever thrown more than one perfect game over the course of his career, but German will give it a go when he is scheduled to take the ball against the Baltimore Orioles early next week.
