NFL Week 6: Try on these Sunday best picks for size

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (9). Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

If it's OK with you, we're going to go ahead and prep for Sunday now. Bookmark this or get your bets in now. We've got a few angles for the NFL this weekend that are worth a wager.

Backing a trio of teams to bring home the win

Rather than venture a guess toward the spreads, we've got our eye on three teams winning outright.

The first is in London, and that would be Baltimore over Tennessee. The Ravens are coming off a frustrating loss to Pittsburgh and should find spots to navigate against a vulnerable Titans defense. Since 2008, when John Harbaugh became coach, the Ravens are 57-34 (62.6%) following a loss, the second-best mark in the NFL during that span.

The second leg of our ML parlay will be the Eagles downing the Jets. Philadelphia is 5-0 and starting to get back to the team we knew from 2022. Week 5 was their most complete game, and they have an edge in the trenches in this one. They should be able to limit Breece Hall on the ground, and with a few backup linemen playing for New York, expect plenty of Philly sacks.

We wrap it with the Los Angeles Rams taking down the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams have beaten the Cards in 10 of the past 12 meetings, and Matthew Stafford and these receivers should be able to feast on this Jonathan Gannon defense after seeing what a hobbled Joe Burrow was able to do.

Back these running backs to bag your bets

Raheem Mostert over 69.5 rushing yards (-115 DK)

Mostert is back as the lead man in Miami following the injury to rookie De'Von Achane. Don't think Mostert is some slouch. He's averaging an impressive 5.4 yards per carry on the year on 58 carries. Mostert should be seeing 15+ carries in this one, and that's an ideal workload against a defense like this.

Carolina is allowing 128.0 yards per game to running backs and 4.9 yards/carry, both top-five marks thus far on the year. Every week we watch RBs pop off against the Panthers, and now it's Mostert's turn in a game where the Dolphins are favored by two touchdowns.

Kenneth Walker III over 66.5 rushing yards (-115 DK)

Speaking of bad run defenses, Cincinnati is proving to have some issues slowing down the run. The Bengals are allowing 5.3 yards per carry and 107.2 yards per game to running backs.

That's music to our ears for Kenneth Walker III. Walker is Seattle's top running back and has seen 17+ carries in three straight weeks. He's flown over this line in two straight and feels bound to do it again. Grab this line with confidence.

In the news...

Phillies beat Braves 3-1, advance to second-straight NLCS — For the second year in a row, the Philadelphia Phillies are in the NLCS. Thanks to two homers from Nick Castellanos, Philly took down Atlanta at home, winning the NLDS in just four games. Next up for OUR Phillies? A date with the Diamondbacks, who swept the Dodgers. Philadelphia took four of the past five against Arizona, and we expect the home crowd to power them to some early wins in this series. It's not too late to join us on the Phillies winning it all, they're currently +200 to do just that.

Deshaun Watson ruled out for Week 6, 49ers-Browns spread explodes — After missing his third straight practice due to a shoulder injury on Thursday, Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers. Former Carolina Panther P.J. Walker will start in his place, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be the backup. The Browns opened as five-point home underdogs against the 49ers, but the news dropped Cleveland all the way to +10.

Lexi Thompson threatening to make the cut at PGA Tour event — By striking her first tee shot at the Shriners Children's Open on Thursday afternoon, Lexi Thompson became just the seventh woman in golf history to make a start on the PGA Tour. The 28-year-old held her own, too, as she finished at 1 over par through 16 holes before her round was suspended early due to darkness. Thompson sits just one shot off the cut line heading into Friday's second round. She was +500 to make the cut and -1400 to miss the cut leading up to the tournament.

Quick Picks

1 Utah Mammoth @ New Jersey Devils

The Devils offense came alive late on Thursday night to grab a 4-3 win over a solid Detroit team, and now they can carry that momentum into this one against the lowly Coyotes. New Jersey has won three straight against Arizona, scoring 4+ goals each time. Expect a similar outcome in this one. Bet the Devils -1.5.

Mammoth
+1.5 (-105) +205 > 6.5 (-110)
Devils
-1.5 (+100) -240 < 6.5 (+105)
2 Pittsburgh Penguins @ Washington Capitals

Pittsburgh dropped their first game to Chicago 4-2, and this will be Washington's first of the year. We're thinking goals could be coming here between two teams who seem to have a few defensive holes. Three of the past five meetings have gone over this total, so grab 6.5 tonight.

Penguins
-1 (+133) -120 > 6.5 (-105)
Capitals
+1.5 (-235) +104 < 6.5 (-105)
3 Jack Hughes goal

Hughes notched two goals in New Jersey's season-opener and feels poised to keep it rolling in a soft matchup. He's scored two goals in five games against the Coyotes, good enough for us to load up the Devils star.

Latest Odds:  +110
4 Syracuse Orange @ Florida State Seminoles

Syracuse's offense has been able to muster a solid amount of points their last few trips to Tallahassee, and the Florida State offense is absolutely humming, one of the best in the nation. As we looked at the state of these two teams, it just seems like the total is a bit too low. Expect a high-scoring affair and grab over 54.5 points.

Syracuse

Florida State
-17.5 (-110) -1000 < 54.5 (-115)
5 Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are fresh off a massive win over Buffalo and took down Indianapolis by 10 in Week 1. With Gardner Minshew under center, we're liking Jacksonville again in this AFC South contest. The Jags have beaten the Colts by 10+ in three of their last four meetings, and all we're asking for is for them to cover -3.5.
Sunday, 1:00 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Colts
+4.5 (-120) +170 > 44 (-110)
Jaguars
-3.5 (-110) -190 < 44 (-110)
6 Detroit Lions @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Both of these teams have just one loss, but the quality in which Detroit has amassed their 4-1 record is just far better than what we've seen out of Tampa Bay. The Lions look legit, and we're not so sure anyone can stop this offense right now, least of all the Bucs who have secondary problems. Grab Detroit -3 and run.
Sunday, 4:25 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Lions
-2.5 (-133) -156 > 42 (-108)
Buccaneers
+3 (-105) +145 < 42 (-110)
